Arrochar is a small village yet has quality places to eat, a few shops and two pubs that offer quiz nights, karaoke and guest bands.
Walking/Mountain Climbing
There are numerous walks right on the doorstep including Ben Arthur (‘The Cobbler’).
Fishing
Loch Long is a sea loch and during the fishing season has an abundance of Mackerel and Sea Trout. You can fish from the lochside.
Wildlife Watching/Photography
As mentioned on our welcome page, this is a great area for both wildlife watching and for those keen on photography. Seals and porpoises can often be seen in the Loch following shoals of fish. The Loch also attracts wading birds, Oyster Catchers, Cormorants, Guillemots, Gannets, Ducks and Swans. Deer are plentiful around Arrochar along with other wildlife and birds. If you’re lucky, you may even see an Eagle soaring over the Glen.
